Burna Boy’s Diamond Bugatti Key: A Bespoke Creation by VENUUM
The experience begins before the engine starts.
A hypercar can make an impression from across a room. A smaller object can make that experience personal.
For Burna Boy’s Bugatti Chiron VXX, VENUUM extended the project beyond the vehicle itself with a bespoke diamond key. Designed by the VENUUM team in collaboration with Senicolent, the piece brings the world of automotive personalisation into direct conversation with jewellery.
The idea is simple: when a vehicle is created around an individual, the objects that accompany it deserve the same consideration.
A key should not feel disconnected from the car it belongs to. It can carry the same character, express the same ambition and become part of the story.
A Personal Vision, Down to the Key
The diamond detail was connected to the original ambition for the project. Before the finished car was revealed, Burna Boy had publicly expressed his desire for a one-of-one VENUUM Bugatti Chiron with diamonds incorporated into the car and its key accessory.
That brief opens up a different way of thinking about customisation.
Rather than stopping at the bodywork or interior, it considers the complete ownership experience. What does the owner see, touch and carry? Which details make the creation feel personal even when the vehicle is out of sight?
For us, those questions matter. A distinctive car deserves more than a familiar finishing touch.
Designed by VENUUM in Collaboration with Senicolent
The bespoke key was designed by VENUUM in collaboration with Senicolent and handcrafted with certified VVS1 diamonds, as detailed in the project’s official presentation.
Its significance is not only in the material. It is in the relationship between the object, the vehicle and the person for whom the project was created.
A car is experienced at an architectural scale: through its silhouette, proportions and presence. A key is experienced at close range. It brings attention to a much smaller surface, where individual details become the focus.
That shift in scale makes the key an opportunity to express the project differently—not by repeating the car in miniature, but by carrying its sense of individuality into another object.
What Does VVS1 Mean?
VVS1 is a diamond clarity grade, within the “Very, Very Slightly Included” category. It describes diamonds with minute internal characteristics that are extremely difficult for a skilled grader to see under 10× magnification. It is a clarity designation, rather than a measurement of diamond size or total carat weight.
For this project, the published VVS1 specification gives the diamond detailing a precise reference beyond appearance alone.
But the creative purpose reaches further than a grading term. It is about bringing care and intention to an object that might otherwise be treated as purely functional.
The smallest part of the experience can still carry a strong identity.
The Key to Burna Boy’s Bugatti Chiron VXX
The key accompanies the Bugatti Chiron VXX Edition Burnaboy, a one-of-one VENUUM project commissioned for the artist. It belongs to the wider story of a vehicle developed around a specific owner rather than a standard combination of options.
Seen in that context, the diamond key is more than an isolated accessory. It becomes a connection to the complete creation.
The car makes its statement through scale and presence. The key brings that statement into the owner’s hand.
For VENUUM, this is where personalisation becomes most interesting: when the individual elements feel connected, and the project continues to express its character beyond the bodywork.
Automotive Design Beyond the Vehicle
We believe that a personal commission should be considered as an experience, not simply a collection of modifications.
The strongest details are not always the largest. Sometimes they are the ones encountered before a door opens, before a journey begins or after the car has been parked.
The diamond key expresses that idea in a particularly direct way. It asks us to look beyond the obvious centrepiece and consider everything that surrounds it.
VENUUM. An individual vision, down to the detail.
